There's an old phrase, “Life gets in the way”. Or, “Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans”. Whichever flavor you prefer, A Reason For Mondays now stands as proof positive that the phenomenon is real. In 2022, my wife and I decided that living in an HOA neighborhood here in Las Vegas had lost its lustre. New people moving into the area had infiltrated our previously chill HOA and instituted new rules that we couldn't live with (No washing of cars in driveways? I'm out!). So we made a HUGE change, and moved out into historic “Old Vegas”, which is, admittedly, the ghetto, out in east Las Vegas. We bought a VERY cool old property, a 1966 Archibald Quincy Jones-designed midcentury modern house in need of MASSIVE rehab. (He's the guy that designed all those amazing Eichler homes). It's on the first fairway of a golf course, so if you've seen that scene in “Casino” where the Cessna airplane runs out of gas and lands in Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal's backyard… yup, that's where we live.

Unfortunately, that took my studio, Jetlag Audio, out of commission for over a year. And that's what we use to make our music. Building a new studio from scratch took a lot of money and a lot of time and brain juice, in addition to what it's taken to get our house into livable condition.
